OGA Boy’s Booster Club Meeting Minutes

April 19, 2010


Thanks to all the incredible help at Regionals!!!  A lot of hard work and it paid off….

 

End of Season Party – Barbara and Sheri

  • $15.00 per family – please put payment in box
  • Please turn in form notifying of the number of swimmers in your party.  We pay lifeguards based on the amount of the people in the pool.
  • Will need to help with either set-up or take-down day of

Photo Books - Tanya

  • Please make sure she has the form of questions by Monday the 26th (an email was sent out previously with the questions) to have your boy’s quotes included.  Email them to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
  • Extra books can be ordered $24.95 hardcover and $15.95 soft cover.  Tanya needs to know how many extras by Monday.

 

Coaches Gifts – if you can contribute anything, please do!  They work so hard for our boys and put in a lot of extra hours during meet season.  We would like to show them how much we appreciate all of the time and hard work they invest in each of our kids!  The more we collect, the more we can give….. J

 

Summer Fun Coordinator

We need someone to volunteer to take this on - Plans fun activities outside of the gym during the summer (movies, ropes course, Laserport…)

 

Treasurer’s Report – Eve

Early figures from Regionals - profit of @ $11,000 (not all of the monies included yet)

Balance as of March 31st of $30,000

Board Update - Mike

Finance Committee meeting – record enrollment of gym, gym operating in the black, BINGO in the black

Elections coming up – 4 open seats

 

Coaches Update – Brad

  • Thanks to all of the help at Regionals!  A big success!
  • Brad gone week before Boy’s Nationals to take his daughter to Western Nats
  • Leonard and Brad gone May 4th through May 9th for Nationals
  • Kid event at Expo Center this weekend – gym was asked if we would do some exhibition work
  • Kudos to Group 4 parent communication – included Brad on email exchanges and very helpful to him.

 

Would like jobs of Booster Club to be cross-trained (older team parent with newer team parent) for each of the jobs….

May 11, 2009 

 

Attendees: Lisa Havelind, Sheri Fisher, Deb Williams, Amette Auld, Leslie Ganz, Tanya Webb, Eve Vacek, Erin Ochsenschlager, Stephanie Harper, Daisuke Furuya

 

Treasurer's Report

$4175.54 ending balance as of April 31, 2009

Booster Club provided Scholarships of $300 to each National competitor

 

Board Report

Annual Meeting - Wednesday, May 20th 7:00 pm

There will be a drawing for FREE tuition for one year!

Ribbon Cutting - 5:30 before the Annual Meeting - Beaverton Chamber event

Practice will end early at 6:30

Nationals - Leslie thanked the Board for the scholarship given to each gymnast!

David - placed 85th AA (300 gymnasts) second round qualifier on pommels

Pat - placed 194th (300 gymnasts)

Isaac - placed 228 (228 gymnasts)

 

End of Year Party - payments are due!!! Don't forget to pay for family members too

  • Photo books - done and look awesome - Tanya can give individual pages to those interested - can be taken and blown up into a poster size
  • Coaches Gifts - they would like cash - due to regulations Booster Club is not allowed give cash gifts to coaches - all the money needs to come from parent donations
  • Cards for Coaches - 1 card per workout group for each coach. Eve is going to help get signatures on Tuesday the 12th

 

Summer Fun Coordinator needed! Volunteers?

  • Harnesberger Camp-out - July 10-11 starting at 6:00 pm
  • Ropes Course - Groups 1 & 2 - July 24th - info to follow
  • Transformer Movie ?  
  • Great Wolf Lodge - Groups 1 & 2 - date is undecided - cost will be $45-$50 per

Gymnast - will need some chaperones - will get a few big rooms - kids will need

Sleeping bags

  • Gov't Camp ?

Coaches Report - Mike

Conferences this week - no practice Wednesday - Friday

Make sure have signed up for a time on the wall

Summer workout schedule begins June 15th

  • Group 1's: 8 - 12 / M - F
  • Group 2: 8 - 11/ M T Th F
  • Group 3: 12:30 - 3:30 / M W F
